We met on November 3rd 2012

We had a great 5th meeting at Hillside!

We'll be got together on Saturday November 3rd at 9:30am for our 5th discussion forum. As usual, it was a fast and interesting 90 minutes of sharing and insights.

London is experiencing an extended time of unemployment and social changes. These challenges are calling for new ways to encourage community development, and to explore faith-inclusive solutions and partnering.

Our speakers included:

Paul Hubert

Paul Hubert is a London City Counsellor with 25 years of experience in community economic development.

His extensive experience in business planning and human resource development are helping London to move forward.

Paul's leadership in Christian neighbourhood efforts, including with Pillar and Gateway Church, show his commitment to helping people, and to seeking new solutions.

We're looking forward to hearing Paul thoughts and ideas!

Gil Clelland

Gil Clelland is the pastor at Sanctuary London, where people affected by poverty can find a healthy community and a sense of belonging.

Gil's previous efforts on the YFC Streetlight bus showed his heart for those living on the street, and the need for us to extend community and dignity to all.

Gil's emphasis is on real relationships, and doing the hard work needed to create community.

We welcome Gil's insights and perspectives.

We also shared an update on the recent CCDA conference, which was attended by a number of people in Churches Together London. The Christian Community Development Association has a strong tradition of working toward the reconciliation and empowering of under-resourced neighbourhoods.
